Minoxidil solution vs. foam: differences you should know
At the pharmacy you will see minoxidil as a solution and as a foam. Both have the same active ingredient, but they are not the same. Here is what is worth knowing.
The solution
A liquid applied directly to the scalp. Novael Health minoxidil 5% for men comes with a sprayer: 6 sprays equal 1 mL, twice a day. Its inactive ingredients are alcohol, propylene glycol and purified water.
The foam
Applied like a mousse, it dries fast and does not drip. Foams are usually formulated without propylene glycol, an ingredient that can irritate some people's skin. Each product has its own label, dose and directions.
