How to sell minoxidil in your barbershop without sounding like a salesman

Novael Health · Updated 2026-09-30Leer en español

Selling minoxidil in a barbershop is not about pushing anyone. It is about giving an honest answer when a client asks about their hair. These are the ideas that work best at the counter.

1. Let the client ask first

Keep the bottle visible, near the register or the mirror. Many clients ask on their own when they see it. When a client mentions that his hair is thinning or that his crown shows, that is your conversation.

2. Explain what the label says, not promises

The minoxidil 5% label says it is for men with hereditary hair loss at the top of the scalp, that it is used twice a day, and that results may occur at 2 months, although some men need at least 4 months. It also says it will not work for all men. Saying it this way builds trust: the client knows what to expect.

3. Show how it is applied

With the bottle in hand: prime the sprayer by pumping 5 times, then 6 sprays (1 mL) directly onto the scalp in the hair loss area, twice a day. Using more or more often will not improve results.

4. Turn it into a monthly visit

One bottle lasts a month. If the client gets a haircut every 3 or 4 weeks, each visit is the natural moment to restock. Write down who bought it and ask how it is going at the next visit.

5. What you should never say

If a client has heart disease, the label says to ask a doctor before use. For any health question, refer him to his doctor or pharmacist.

Frequently asked questions

Can the barber apply it to the client in the chair?

The product is meant to be used by each client at home twice a day. The best approach is to show him how to apply it and let him do it himself.

What if a client sees no results?

The label says to stop use and ask a doctor if there is no regrowth after 4 months.

Can I sell the minoxidil under my barbershop's brand?

Novael Health minoxidil is sold under the Novael Health brand. Your own brand is available on the supplement line, which is in development.
